Spouses, or trailing spouses, are a unique challenge when recruiting talent and we have adjusted to this need by doing pro-bono work on behalf of the candidates better half.
If you are using a recruiter, this might be the extra help you need. Have the recruiter call his clients, letting them know of the skills your spouse possesses. Better yet, let them know that the referral is free of charge and you are simply helping one of your candidates. It is a win-win for the candidate, the recruiter and the company. Candidate wins by getting his/her spouse a new job, recruiter shows good will and increases public image, and the company is provided a great asset at no additional charge for the identification.
